Terms of Service
Draft terms
These terms are a plain-language draft for AskOwethu and are not legal advice. They should be reviewed by a South African legal professional before launch.
What AskOwethu does
AskOwethu connects customers with independent local service providers through WhatsApp. AskOwethu does not directly perform electrical, plumbing, cleaning, tutoring, handyman, mechanical, painting, gardening, or other local services.
Independent providers
Providers are independent service providers. They are responsible for their work, quotes, tools, transport, qualifications, conduct, and any legal requirements that apply to their services.
Quotes and platform fees
Providers set their own quote. AskOwethu may add a platform fee to manage bookings, support, and payment protection. Customers should review the total price before confirming payment.
Completion code
Customers must only share the completion code when they are satisfied that the agreed job has been completed. Provider payout may be released after completion confirmation.
Disputes
If a customer is not happy with the work, they should raise a dispute before sharing the completion code. AskOwethu may review available booking information, messages, photos, and provider history to assist.
Customer responsibilities
Customers should provide accurate location, job details, urgency, and budget information, and should make sure the provider can safely access the work area.
Changes
AskOwethu may update these terms as the service develops, including future WhatsApp Cloud API, provider onboarding, and payment features.
